Terms of service

The agreement

PassResearch is operated as an independent project based in Kampala, Uganda. No registered company name, registration number or office address is published because none has been confirmed.

By creating an account or using the platform you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity that happens under your account. You must provide accurate registration details and use the service only for lawful research.

Your work stays yours

You keep ownership of everything you write, upload or save. We claim no ownership over your research content.

You grant us only the limited licence needed to store, process, back up and display your content back to you, and to generate the documents and exports you request.

Acceptable use

PassResearch exists to support genuine academic work. You agree not to use it to submit work that is not yours, to misrepresent authorship, or to break your institution's rules.

• Do not attempt to access another person's account or content.
• Do not use the service to generate content that would breach academic-integrity rules or the law.
• Do not attack, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the platform.
• Do not upload unlawful material or content you have no right to share.

Availability and changes

We work to keep the service available and may make changes, add features or retire features. We will give reasonable notice before a change that materially reduces what a paid plan provides.

Limits of liability

The platform is a research aid. You remain responsible for the accuracy, originality and integrity of your academic work and for complying with your institution's requirements.

To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before a claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Ending the agreement

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, and where practical we will give you the opportunity to export your work first.
